FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do we meet?
33100 N North Valley Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85085

When do we meet?
Meet times vary throughout the year. In the morning, we will meet prior to sunrise. For afternoon flights, we will meet well before sunset. Your meet time will be confirmed upon booking.

Is there an age restriction?
Yes. Children need to be at least 5 years of age.

How long does the experience last?
You can expect to spend 3-3.5 hours with us. Because there are so many variables in ballooning, we can only give you an estimate of how much time you will be with us. Opting for transportation from your hotel will add 30+ minutes before and after the flight for transfer.

What is included in our flight experience and why 3-3.5 hours?
The full experience includes check-in, balloon inflation, the approximately one hour flight, pack-up, light continental breakfast, celebratory champagne toast, first flight commemorative certificate presentation and transportation back to meeting point. We hope that our passengers will be able to set aside enough time to fully enjoy the magnificent experience of hot air balloon flying without feeling rushed.

Is there a temperature difference when we go up?
The temperature will typically drop 10 to 15 degrees as we ascend over the Sonoran Desert.  However, this drop in temperature is offset by the burners above – so the clothes you wear when you check-in will be warm enough during your flight.

What should we wear/bring?
Dress for the weather of the day. Closed toed shoes are recommended, along with a hat (for passengers near or over 6ft tall).  Be sure to bring a camera to capture all the amazing views hot air ballooning over the Sonoran Desert has to offer!

How many passengers can fly in your balloons?
In our fleet, we have balloons that carry 2 passengers up to 18 passengers. Being a small business, we ensure a customized and unforgettable experience with us. Our goal is to show each passenger breathtaking views, have fun and share our love for the sport of Hot Air Ballooning!

How long will our flight last?
Hot Air Balloon flights are very dependent on mother nature. Flight times and distance flown depend on wind speed, and outside temperature. We love spending time in the air so we aim for a minimum of 1 hour of flight time, but will always fly longer if mother nature allows!

How do you pilot a balloon?
A pilot can only directly control a balloon’s altitude. Its course through the sky is determined by the wind, which is why pilots pore over wind charts and forecasts before flights. An experienced pilot can read the wind well enough to chart a predictable course and guide the balloon to one of a few pre-planned landing areas.

Can I change/cancel my reservation?
Cancellations and/or changes to your reservation are allowed so long as they are made a minimum of 48 hours prior to your scheduled flight.  If they are made 48 hours within your reservation, penalties will apply.

Do you cancel flights if the weather is bad?
The safety of our passengers is paramount. If we feel that it would not be safe to fly, we will not launch. We will make every effort to reschedule you to a later date of your choosing.  If you are unable to reschedule, you will be fully refunded for your flight.

Do I Need To Sign a Release of Liability Waiver?
Yes. Each passenger will need to sign a general release of liability waiver. Any passengers under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign for them prior to the flight. You can find the release waiver here - ABI RELEASE.
